ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL FOR FLUIDIZED BED AGGLOMERATION
Abstract
Fluidized bed agglomeration is an advanced technology to produce spherical coarse-grained material of uniform size ready for sale without any need for post-treatment. This study discusses the possibilities and appropriateness of an intelligent control method such as a fuzzy logic controller in simulating and controlling fluidized bed agglomeration performance. Modeling and simulation was performed on the basis of data collected from several experiments. The resulting fuzzy controller is a knowledge-based system that performs closed-loop operations autonomously either by supervising or replacing conventional algorithms.
