CONCEPTUALIZING THE MULTIPLICITY OF INTEGRATION

Abstract

Integration of complex socio-technical networks is the goal and challenge for today’s organization. Surprisingly, such a central term ‘integration’ is highly ambiguous and has multiply meanings. In this paper we expose the ambiguity of the term ‘integration’ and propose an interdisciplinary analytical perspective how integration acti-vities can be analysed and explained. We conclude that further interdisciplinary research on integration activities is required.
