Abstract

More than 50 % of all software development resources are consumed by testing of software. Today the majority of software has a graphical user interface. The most popular way to test software functions is to test them through a user interface. Automation allows testing costs to be reduced and more extensive testing of software to be performed, thus resulting in more bugs being found and increasing the quality of software. Automation includes automatic generation of test case, tests execution and verification of result. Most popular testing methods automate only certain phases of testing. A method for automated testing of software, which covers all phases of testing, provides means for modelling end user actions, feeds test data into test model and also verifies test results, is presented in this paper.
