PARTICLE GROWTH MODELLING AND SIMULATION IN DRUM GRANULATOR-DRYER

Abstract

The paper presents a model of the granule growth within the continuous drum granulator-dryer. The developed model is based on the growth-by-layering phenomena considering the process parameters, features and equipment. Simulation has been executed to test the model and the simulation results have shown close agreement with the measured plant data. The model built can be used for the evaluation of plant control methods, such as PID or Fuzzy. Capability to predict the future states of the granulation process makes it also useful for guidance or operatortraining.
