PATTERN BASED GENERATION OF FULL-FLEDGED RELATIONAL SCHEMAS FROM UML/OCL MODELS

Abstract

In this paper, we briefly describe currently used methods for generating relational database schemas, their limitations and drawbacks, and propose a method which advances them by generating full-fledged relational database schemas from a conceptual model. The proposed method consists of metamodel-based ant pattern-based transformations. Principles of creating pattern-based transformations are defined for transformation of OCL expressions to corresponding SQL code.
